Integrative Somatic Massage is based on the idea that your body can become a "safe place" from which to experience life. By creating an environment of trust and safety, I help you recognize and interpret the sensations in your body at your own pace. This process, allows your nervous system to regulate itself, giving you the tools to live more harmoniously in your body.
The sessions are a blend of techniques that address multiple levels of the body, such as:

Trauma is stored in the body when overwhelming events leave unresolved survival energy or incomplete responses to a threat trapped in the nervous system. This can manifest as chronic tension, pain, or emotional triggers, even without conscious memory of the event.
The body holds trauma through muscle tension, fascia memory, implicit memories and nervous system dysregulation. During a session, I guide you to help you identify and release these lingering sensations, allowing you to reconnect with your body, name your experiences, and integrate them into your personal story.
Many of us experience chronic pain without any acute injury. At the beginning of the session, I dedicate time for a warm epsom salt footbath infused with plant herbs. During this footbath, I guide you through a relaxation meditation, helping you turn your focus inwards and drop into your body. I designed this ritual to purposefully cleanse and ground you, and prepare the body and mind for the session ahead. We’ll have a brief conversation afterwards, trying to feel present sensations in the body.
